According to the recent ACCA report entitled "Accountancy: The future outlook", 63% of business leaders expect continuous demand for accountants despite global economic conditions. As accountancy is at the heart of business, accountants play key roles in managing sustainable businesses. In fact, the majority believe s that there is a stronger need for accountants in bad times.

As the appetite for accountants increases, it is indeed timely that ACCA will again host ACCA Careers 2009 for the fourth time on 8 August 2009. Catering exclusively to ACCA members, affiliates and final-year students, popular career fair will help meet increasing market demand for accounting professionals.

With the theme 'Accountants for Business: Realising career ambitions', ACCA Careers 2009 will focus on providing opportunities, support, services and guidance for qualified professionals to realize their career ambitions. Prominent and leading employers will have the platform to showcase exciting job opportunities for various accounting and finance positions.

ACCA Careers 2009 will showcase exciting job opportunities in accounting and finance by leading employers as well as career talks on working for prominent companies in Malaysia. In addition, there will be a talk on the prospects of the accountancy profession during current economic conditions.

These sessions focus on providing guidance and advice for finance professionals to get ahead in their careers.

Career Development

Members will be briefed on the latest updates on services, CPD requirements and initiatives offered by ACCA to support members in developing and establishing their careers. ACCA is committed to ensure th at learning and development for members is relevant to them at all stages of their professional career.

Career Progression

In Malaysia, the majority of students are working adults who pursue their ACCA qualification after obtaining their degree. The demands of self-study may be more rigorous and require greater time management than regular classroom study. ACCA is committed to helping these students to complete their ACCA studies. These sessions will enlighten students on how to overcome the hurdles of studying ACCA while working, provide tips on how to answer examination questions, as well as talk and feature talks from by ACCA members on how to overcome the various challenges in acquiring ACCA qualifications as part of their career progression
